GARIBALDI Global Thermohaline Circulation Model

This page is dedicated to gather all available information on the GARIBALDI thermohaline circulation simulation code. Since this model was (apparently) written in the 80's, and never publicly released, there is very little information on it. It's a sort of lost media project for me, so please write me if you have any information on the model not already on this page, or just to discuss.

Tape: Executable and source code?

I have a tape (Sony DDS2 format) supposed to contain an executable and source code for a relatively late version of the code, according to T.M. I do not have access to a suitable tape reader. (I wrote the text on the label)


Who wrote GARIBALDI ?

According to the person that gave me the tape, the model was written as a part of a grant tied to some Monegasque oceanographic program, without much more details. According to the README, there is a focus on circulation in the polar regions.

GARIBALDI 2 (type specimen, archival tape): Me (2022) ← T. M. (2019? - definitely not author) ← ? (tape obtained by TM when emptying lab drawers, tape readable, README and source directory present at minimum, no owner identified)
